info on going about side panel art?
« on: July 07, 2003, 09:35:04 pm »
My first cabinet I stuck with dark colors(marble contact) because I didn't want a hot pink cabinet in the home.  Ok, that's a little extreme  ;) but now I'm thinking that I wouldn't mind a dark graphic of some sort that wouldn't be too bold.  Question is, where can you get side art? Or better yet- how's the best way to make it being that there's so much area to cover on a cabinet?  I still plan on going with a black cabinet, but ya never know...

The wife keeps saying to keep it dark!  No yellow cabinets!  ;D

I'm bumping this because I'm interested in any pointers here too. I think I've got a handle on all of my wiring issues but the Art thing is confusing. My cab was clearly done with a Paint + Stencil approach but some of the cabs I see on the net are much more modern and professional looking.

Is there some place (Kinko's or a net service) that can print out giant stickers or something?

If this has already been covered to death, even a pointer to the previous discussion or a www site would be helpful. I'm really good with electronics but a pretty mediocre carpenter. :)

Sign shops should be able to print the self-adhesive vinyl that you need.  Or, look into using large-scale laminated prints and use 3M Super 77 adhesive to make it a big sticker.

Look up 1UP's cabinet; his sideart is wonderful and he made it himself....
