Oh yeah, firstly 'hi there'  ;D

Starting my arcade build, well have built the framework and am looking around for uk sites for buttons/joysticks and stuff, came across the above mentioned site on ebay with a deal that seems to almost suit my build, albeit there a cpl other bits and bobs i need

So my question is has anyone had any issues with the site or the quality of the goods supplied, have provided a link at the bottom of this (no i'm not trying to adertise his site) just wanting some feedback on the quality/cost of the package.

Meh, for all i know the owner is a member of this forum  ;D

heres the link of the package i was considering http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MINIPAC-ARCADE-CABINET-BUILDERS-KIT-No2-NEW_W0QQitemZ390054971258QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Video_Games_Coin_Operated_MJ?hash=item5ad116877a&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A30

Thanks in advance

GroovyGameGear ships to the UK, and Ultimarc is based here.

The package contains

1 x Mini IPAC board
Wiring Harness
USB connector
4 x PCB Feet for mounting MINIPAC securely
2 x 4/8 Way Joysticks
1 & 2 Player start buttons
16 x coloured arcade buttons
(choose 16 buttons from red, blue, yellow, green, black or white - any combination)
18 x black fixing rings
18 x microswitches

Let's price these up individually.

£26.52 - I-PAC2 instead of Mini-PAC. You'd only need the Mini-PAC if you were putting a trackball or spinner in.
£14.96 - Wiring kit, the components of which can be found cheaper elsewhere (though it's nice to have them in a handy little package, all the right size and spec, etc.)
USB connector is included with I-PAC.
PCB feet can be ignored for what it's worth. Screw the PCB to a small block of wood and glue that block of wood to the side of the cabinet.
2x $8.49 - HAPP Competition Joystick.
2x $1.40 - Player Start Pushbuttons
16x $1.20 - HAPP Pushbuttons
Fixing rings included with pushbuttons.
Microswitches included with pushbuttons.

Total (assuming $1 = 60p) is £73.67.

Hm, I was expecting to prove the deal poor value for money, but the difference is tiny. For what it's worth, unless anyone has anything negative to say about the shop in question, you might as well go for it. The price of shipping from two different shops, one in the USA (GroovyGameGear) will probably kill the ~£3 difference in prices.

Thanks for the reply, i will eventally be putting in a trackball, though lack of funds means i am doing my machine in stages, not the best way to go i know, but i want to be playing with the joystick and buttons asap, gives me more incentive to keep going

I will probably end up going for the Ultimarc u-marc strackball and attach straight to usb, so maybe the i-pac2 would work better because as it stands, i am short on pin space for pinball buttons side & front. And even further into the future, maybe a spinner, though at that stage i would probably run 2 cards.

All i am looking for is the cheapest way to get 2 players running with joysticks and buttons, i can live not using a trackball for awhile.

Looks like ArcadeDepotUK is the eBay arm for Gremlin Solutions. I think they have a pretty good reputation.
