A little background on this Space Invaders Arcade
« on: June 17, 2009, 11:28:05 pm »
Hey everyone,

I just went and picked up an old Space Invaders arcade that was posted on my local Craigslist.

I tried to do a little homework on it, but the only Space Invaders cabinet I have seen is the Japanese version with the aliens on the side.

I figured this forum would be the best place to get some answers.

Do you have anymore background info or history on this particular arcade?

Thanks for your time

~AB

Space Invaders Trimline, also known as a cabaret ..... don't see those often.

A flyer.

Must have manual.

Some pics and a little info on one like yours.

And of course there's the Space Invaders Shrine for lots of history and more.

Thanks for all the info!

Does anyone know how much this unit is worth?

The electronics don't work (I am currently troubleshooting it)
but the controls and hardware are in very good condition.

I picked it up at the local craigslist for $50

Sorry, but I am not intending it for sale.  I just wanted a quick value estimate.

Thanks for the offer though,

The only thing I don't like about those Taito versions is the joystick..I'm so used to playing SI with buttons, a joystick just doesn't seem right. We had a local arcade that closed a few years back that had one in a cab similar to that.

It's probably worth whatever somebody is willing to pay for it ;) Have you tried a completed listings search on ebay? Ask over on the klov forums too.
