U360 my top of joystick keeps unscrewing

Hey guys,
This is an odd question, but I have 2 U360 joysticks and the top black plastic part (the oval thing attached to the joystick keeps unscrewing.  Of course not all the way off, but wow it is annoying.  Now I'm pretty sure I assembled the joysticks right, EXCEPT I ended up with 2 "extra" pieces... 2 round metal circular pieces (one for each joystick).  Any idea where these go?  Hopefully it helps this problem of the joystick unscrewing itself while playing.

There is a flathead screwdiver slot on the bottom of the stick. Slip a screwdriver into it while you tighten the bat. This will solve your main problem. The second problem....I'm not sure what piece you mean.

I think the metal pieces you're talking about are the lock washers that are supposed to go underneath the black bat tops to keep them from unscrewing. They should look like split metal rings. If that is what they are, put them on before you screw down the black bat tops and that should keep them from unscrewing.

That sounds like it!  I will post the pics of them when I get home though.  Do I put them in between the silver joystick and the black bat tops?

That same piece got lost with the Christmas wrapping paper when I opened my U360.  I remember seeing it when I opened the package and then could not find it after the excitement. 

I assumed that was what it was for.  Anybody know where to get a replacement?

Your standard hardware store should have some.

These are indeed the locking washers that sit between the stick and handle.

That I did not know about.  I have the same problem.  The metal ring did help out a lot to tighten it but it still comes lose sometimes.  I will have to try this when I get home (visting family for two weeks now)

Is this what you are talking about, if so then yes it goes under the bat.

use BLUE loctite to hold the bat/ball top on.  works great

Another solution for this is plumbers teflon tape wrapped around the threads.

That's what I was planning to use.  Good to know it works.

Just a little update guys... I added the "extra pieces" I had and it worked like a champ.  Those circular metal pieces worked like a champ!!!

I hadn't thought of this one. I used Loc-tite. However, to make sure, and as they were already mounted, I wrapped a little bit of cloth around the shaft, clamped on with plyers, and counter-screwed against the handle. It suddenly comes to mind that one might do just as well, or better, with a piece of rubber instead of the cloth.

I use one of these rubber strap wrenches every time I take a joystick ball/bat top on or off, works great no harm to the ball/bat top
