« on: June 08, 2009, 06:49:52 pm »
I want to know how well it works?
I have talked to my wife.
only option for high speed internet for my location is satalight.
$300.00 to install
    $50,00 a month.

My current internet is dial up (26k)
Phone bill a month is $50.00
Win.net is $25.00 a month
total $75.00

high speed internet $50.00 a month
magic Jack advertised is $25.00 a year
unlimited local and long distance.
breaks down to $52.09 a month

You can't run Magicjack over satellite internet.

Magicjack is OK, but not as good as Vonage or other real companies.
Well, that's where we go a-ridin' into town, a whampin' and whompin' every livin' thing that moves within an inch of its life. Except the women folks, of course.

Read this review and then decide

Dont buy into this unless you have a spare computer that you dont mind getting the spy-malware on. Or a credit card you dont mind charging up!

Satellite internet sucks.  You're not missing out on anything.

I had a coworker try that out (to avoid having a second line for an office line)

It sucked. Voice drops, bad quality, you couldn't do anything else on the inet when you were connected via MagicJack (cause apparently they don't work with QOS).

Some other voip, maybe, but not that (I'm still a 2 pots lines guy myself).
