Gamecabinetsinc.com: good?
« on: July 05, 2003, 11:56:58 pm »
I found that this site contains all the hardware I need, that I otherwise would have had to buy from two places. My original plan was to buy the joysticks and buttons from The Real Bob Roberts, and the Ipac2 USB from Ultimarc. But, I can buy everything from gamecabinetsinc, and I save a fair amount of money, even though the parts cost more than TRBR. This is mostly because I only have to pay one shipping fee.

My question is, is this a good place to buy parts from? I haven't heard a thing about their reputation.

ya, i bought parts from them. pretty good, my only real beef was the time it took to ship and the quality of the packing. nothing damaged, but a few extra seconds wouldn't have hurt. the shipping you save should be worth it really

When I got an ipac from them, they charged me a little over $9 shipping and it still took almost two weeks to get to me. I live around chicago - I've had larger things shipped in 2 days, for less money, and about the same distance.

I ordered an IPac and an Optipac from them.  Shipping was quick.  They are on the west coast, and so am I, so the is probably why it was so quick.

They responded quickly when I emailed them a question.  All in all, I was very happy with my order.

I may get joysticks and buttons here or there, but I would never buy an IPac or Optipac from anyone other than Andy (ultimarc.com). He's the guy that designed them, he's the guy that helps service them when they go screwy, and he's the guy that deserves our support for the great job he does with them.

AlanS17 - I ordered the the Ultimarc parts from GCI because I wanted them before the weekend.  From some of the posts here, it sounded like it would take at least a week to get them from Ultimarc.  I agree with your sentiment, but GCI is a reseller, they bought them from Ultimarc, so it is not like Andy is getting cut out.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
