How to run SK Jukebox from MALA?
« on: May 31, 2009, 05:27:02 pm »
Can someone tell me how to run SK Jukebox from within MALA?  I've read where I need a batch file?  If so,  can someone post it and where it should go?
Thanks

under other emu config setup new emulator
under executable point it to the attached bat file.
under rom path point this to a folder you have made
in this folder put anything you want and name it what you want to appear in the rom list (like scan for songs etc)
under execution take everything out of the command line and leave it blank
choose normal for launch
all done
cheers
P.S. this bat file will work if you have sk installed in c:\Program Files\Sk Jukebox
if it is installed somewhere else let me know and we will edit the bat file

Weird - I try to save as the zip and the popup window just flashes and closes.  clicking on the link brings you to a blank page.  I know I am screwing something up here - any thoughts?  I seem to have this issue with all attachments from this site.

This is how its set up in my jukebox .....
I have SkJukebox, Ultrastar Deluxe, and Frets of Fire installed.

In my Mala directory , i have made a shortcuts folder
In that folder i have a .bat file for each program....    frets.bat    skjukebox.bat    ultrastar.bat

This is whats in each .bat file ...

cd\
cd "C:\SK Jukebox"
SKJukebox.exe

Just change the details for each program.  ;)

In MaLa , go to Other Emu Config.
Make a new emulator - "jukebox"
In Basics - make the Rom path point to where the shortcuts are situated. And where it says rom extentions - type in bat
Under Execution , make sure the command line is -  %rom%.%ext%

That should do it.

Hope this helps.

OK got it working except the SK Jukebox screen ends up "under" the Mala screen, is there a way to "fix" that?

Yes behind it would be a better way to put it.

Ok got it working by using the bat file and then setting up MALA like this:

In Mala Options go to "Other Emu Config"
Add a NEw Emulator called Jukebox
Under "Basics" enter a name
Leave Executable blank
Put the ROM PATH to your SKJukebox directory
under "Rom Extensions" type in exe
In the "Execution" tab leave the defaults.

Mala will then search your SKJukebox path for
exe files and display them in the game list
so you will see "SKJukebox"
Select it and SKJukebox will launch.

Now it opens up full screen just like a game emulator, go figure!  Thanks for everyone's help!

This helped me a lot with getting Mala to Launch my jukebox.  I did have to type "bat" in rom extension to make it work. You can use these directions to launch pinball or pc games or whatever you want to launch from mala.

Thanks all!
