Reproduction Arcade Game Wire Harnesses
« on: May 31, 2009, 02:29:56 pm »
Hey everyone,

I've been working on making reproduction wire harnesses for various games recently and I wanted to get some input from everyone on which harnesses might be most sought after.

I have been using the same harness firm for the last few years but they recently went bankrupt (surprise!) so I've decided to bring harness making back in-house.  I've got two guys at the shop who's sole job is to wire up harnesses for me.  I have already built harness boards for the following items and should have ready-to-ship harnesses in a few days:

Food Fight control panel
Lunar Lander control panel
Tempest control panel
720 control panel

I'll be making more control panel harnesses as well as main harnesses, I just need original samples or a harness board wiring diagram for each harness type that I reproduce.  I've been stocked up on Alpha Wire 5856/7 MIL-W-16878D Type E 20awg hookup wire for some time now and I'm finally putting it to good use.  This is special mil-spec teflon jacketed wire.  It's really NICE stuff that runs about $400 for a 1000' spool.  .....and I've got just over fifty 1000' spools of various colors!!  The point is that these harnesses will be quality items, exceeding original manufacturer specification.

If you're interested in any of these harnesses or if you'd like to see some other harnesses made, let me know.  If you have original sample harnesses available (especially for Atari made games) and you're willing to let me borrow them, contact me ASAP.

Thanks

David Adams

I bet a lot of Atari System 2 people could use a new power harness.  It seems the connectors on those are always burnt up.  Not sure of any others in demand.
