Ultrastik 360 problem outputting to IPAC
« on: May 31, 2009, 01:25:05 am »
I cannot figure this out!!

I have to Ultra360's and they are both recognized fine through the USB.   The problem is that I need it to output to a key pad.

I have it going through a USB in the PCI slot.  2.0  Works fine.   Regular USB nonPCI works fine.

But here is the problem.   The wiring harness....nothing.   So I tried testing each individual post.   The only one that works is a wire coming from the Ipac regular key command to the ground.   That lights up the key???

Yet nothing else works.

Not any other combination.   Only a key command to ground.    Why would this be?   Shouldn't it be key command to key command ground to ground?   Is there a setting that makes the Ultra360 to output mode?

Let me ask it another way.

Ok if I want the 4 way output to Ipac do I hook up Ground or 5 Volt if I have the stick going through USB?

So far nothing is working.   Green/Yellow/Blue/Orange should be connected??? or is it possible the wiring harness is wrong?  I have never had this problem before.

You need to hook up the 4 directions and ground only.

One issue might be if the I-PAC and the U360 are powered from different sources and the I-PAC is being powered up after the U360. This might happen if the USB power for the U360 is supplied by PC standby power and the I-PAC is connected to PS/2 which might be powered from main power.
