Custom ubuntu build for mame--any interest?
« on: May 29, 2009, 12:00:41 am »
I've been thinking about doing this for awhile.  I know that there is advancecd but that doesn't meet my needs.  Is anyone else interested in this?  This is my first attempt so I'd like to hear what people think.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

My windows XP loads up faster than that. Plus, there's no way I'd run everything from a DVD drive.

Nice but way too slow. I'm going for a cf to IDE adapter system with a fixed fs for everything and then have the roms on a hard drive so I can just power it on and off without having to do a fs check.
