Warner Bros. bid $33 million for the assets of Midway Games, which includes their Chicago and Seattle studios

Nuts,  I have friends who use to work there.  From what they told me I was hoping for a HUGE fire sale/auction.

Mortal Kombat and slot machines were their only products.

It was a sweat shop for college grads. Everybody worked 60 hours a week in a windowless dungeon.  The pay was great but unless you were part of the original MK team or you didn't mind not having a life outside of Midway, you wouldn't work there for more than two years.

Almost all of real game development is like that.  See all the class action suits against EA going on now.  That's why even though I got into CMPSCI to be a game developer I stayed away from it once I was qualified.  I have a family and that will always be more important to me than my career.

Mortal Kombat and slot machines were their only products.

And NBA Jam/Hangtome/Showtime, and NFL Blitz, and NHL Open Ice, and Crusin World/USA/Exotica, and Killer Instinct, and Area 51, and WWF Wrestlemania, and San Fransisco Rush, and Revolution X........

should I even mention the classics like Galaxian, Galaga, Arch Rivals, Satan's Hollow, Defender, Rampage, Spy Hunter, Tron,(root beer) Tapper, Gorf, Timber, Omega Race, Robotron 2048,etc,etc,etc

EDIT:Damn that link actually listed most of the games I was racking my brain to think of, lol

If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

For the last 10 years slot machines have been their bread and butter.
