6 in 1 JAMMA board compatible with JAMMA+?
« on: May 18, 2009, 05:14:33 pm »
Hey guys I have a question that maybe you can help me out with. I currently own Ikari Warriors 2, Ikari Warriors 3, and Heavy Barrel pcbs.  I have the opportunity to purchase a working Guerrilla War dedicated cabinet with LS-30 rotational joysticks. Since all these games require rotational joysticks to play, I would love to put them all in the Guerrilla War cab using a 6 in 1 JAMMA pcb. However, I heard that these games all use a JAMMA+ pin-out to accommodate for the extra inputs from the rotational joysticks. My question is: is the 6 in 1 compatible with JAMMA+, would I have to do some sort of mod to the board in order to get it to work, or am I just SOL?
If anybody can help me out I would appreciate it.

If you're talking about the cheap Chinese junk that Yaton sells,  avoid it unless you're willing to do some serious hacking yourself.   They suck something fierce "as-is"...

my guess is you would have to wire the extra stuff seperately from each board like yourmameman did for using a 6 in 1 for multiple mortal kombats, you have to install some diodes

I think some of those multi devices don't even run -5V either. I know that was an issue with the midway pcbs.

Yeah, they don't have -5v.  You'll need to mod it.  I have a Smash TV and Total Carnage that I am looking to merge in 1 cabinet.  But luckily it's an easy mod.

Current collection - 28 cabs, 4 pins. (32 machines and not enough room)

you can also install relays to cut the -5v to sockets that arent in use. (no need to supply a board with -5v if its not on!)
