E-Touch Feature questions
« on: May 07, 2009, 08:35:42 am »
With E-touch is there a way to fast forward and rewind a song?  Also if you save a playlist can you play that playlist randomly.  Can you randomize the queue and if you pick a genre or artist, could you pick say the grateful dead and play all their songs randomly?

Chunce,

Go to the E-Touch Forums. Starting to get some tutorials about how to use the software.

You can do all that you have asked.

This specific tutorial will help answer most of your current questions and the forum in general will probably answer the rest!

Thanks Buddy,  the only reason I am tossing these questions out here is because my old lady just scheduled a Memorial Day party, which puts the jukebox project on a tight schedule to finish,  I'm under the gun here and thinking of the questions drunk people are going to have,  wish me luck,  I have three decks to paint, and an endless honeydoo list in addition to the juke!!!!!!

If your having a party, you may want to disable the 'Shuffle Queue' and make it 'Read Only' (in the Coin Settings) and in the 'Buttons' section, un-check the 'Player Buttons'. If a song starts to play, then someone comes along and kills the song that everyone else is enjoying, kinda bums the party mood! It only takes one to ruin the party mood! :badmood:

Just some tips for the party!

You know what kills the mood even more, when a nice loud ACDC tune comes on that I love but my wife hates and she starts yelling how do i stop this song?!!!!!  So the skip track is essential..

Also been looking around and still do not see anything about fast forwarding and rewinding,  also when I set the random settings to play a specific artist, it still just plays random songs from all artists,   I would ike to be able to have the random play just play Grateful dead songs, I know I could use a playlist to get around this but it looks like it is a feature,

Dude you really should post these questions on the freebox forums they will be answered quicker and it saves cluttering these forums with E/Touch posts...

Skip Track... You are better off setting up a remote and hiding the player. Use the remote to alter volume and skip tracks and it prevents your guests from doing it either on purpose or by accident. When you want it skipped just do it with the remote.

Right Random play, if you only want say just greatful dead then you only need the checkboxes ticked for enable random play and Artist and have greatful dead in the left box of the artists section of random play. If you have a tick in Audio (Which it sounds like you have) it will also pick from there as well which is every artist. I am going to revamp the random play soon to offer weighting to the selections so you could have 80% Great Ful dead and 20% pure random from audio. That will be nice for holidays like christmas where you could make it say %60 christmas and %40 top 10 tracks.

If you need any more help please feel free to post over on the freebox forums where I am sure you will get a quicker response.
