Lusid cabinet project--reducing the control panel size
« on: May 05, 2009, 11:37:42 pm »
Hi all.  I'm coming into possession of a lusid based cabinet from here  http://www.lusid.net/arcade/.  I'd like to put a slightly less wide control panel on there.  Has anyone done this?  It's a great idea, but I'm only interested in putting on 2 sticks, 6 buttons per player, and the 1 and 2 player buttons.

I was looking at the lusid plans when I built my cab, but ended up working from the elvis plans instead.  I only wanted 2 sticks, 6 buttons per player, and credit/start buttons.  They fit comfortably into a 60cm wide control panel (23.6") so you shouldn't have any problem making lusid's panel smaller.  I believe the lusid design is 26" wide, so you could make it without any overhang.

My problem is that I'm just trying to reduce an existing panel.  So far I'm having to go off pictures but hopefully that will change.  Does anyone have a printable template for a joystick and 6 buttons a la street fighter II so I can lay out my panel better?

There are lots of printable layouts [here]. The 1st one is the Capcom SF layout.
