help with snap folder and gamelsit
« on: May 05, 2009, 10:33:27 am »
I used this thread and set it up exaclty step by step according to the instructions

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=83570.0

I can run the games in mame but mala generated a huge gamelist and i obviously don't have the 8080 roms it wants to look for. When i tried to create my own gamelsit it gives me an error saying I am missing an executable file in the mala folder, (I'm at work right now so i can't quite remember the name of the file I think its gamelisteditor.exe)

The file was not in the download of mala from http://malafe.net/index.php?page=download ( I am currently using version1.05)

So where do I go from here? How can i get this working or is there maybe a build of mala that will not generate a gamelist of that size and only pull games from the rom folder inside my mame directory?

And as for snaps there was no folder in the current version of mame labeled snaps, if i create my own can i just put any image file or is it specific to a certain type of extension? and I assume it must share the exact spelling of the rom itself.

Thanks for anyhelp in advance.

there is a check box in the options menu somwhere that says "display only roms I own".  That will cut down your list.

as far as snaps yes put them in any folder and then point to it in mala options, yes it has to be the same name as the rom, search for an app called fuzzy renamer, this will rename your snaps to the same name as your roms
cheers
