Project Announcement forum (sticky) suggestion
« on: May 04, 2009, 07:45:52 am »
How about a sticky where people can post just one picture, a brief description and link to their project when it's done?

There is a "not a project thread" that is similar but the pictures are of various things during construction etc. not the cabinet/bartop as a whole.
You would only be allowed one pic so it would have to be a good one!

Thoughts?

I thought that the "Not a project thread" is specifically for linking pictures (a way to get around the "click to enlarge" issue of posting in the thread) -- never occured to me to read it. Maybe I will.

As for the a spot to post one picture, provide a brief description and a link to a completed project, there is the examples page in the wiki.

Something like ... http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/AquaCade

Not as visible as a sticky, but something that needs new examples.

In fact, I would suggest that, if we have a sticky, then I might suggest that the requirement be to link to an example page in the wiki. I would still post all of the info in the thread, but requiring a link to that person's example page in the wiki builds up the wiki and will drive people looking for ideas to the example pages.

I must have misunderstood that thread, I only had a quick look to make sure I wasn't asking for something that was already there.
I like the thought of having a thread at the top of the page so you could "search" quicky through all the completed or 99% completed
 ;)projects.

Putting a link to the wiki might encourage it to grow you are right, never thought of the wiki.

Cheers

I am spending too much time browsing this forum and not enough time chopping up wood so I can post something in there myself!
