MAME UI in Fullscreen on Windows XP
« on: April 30, 2009, 10:45:25 pm »
Hello,

So Im building the computer that I am putting in my new cab and I was running into an issue that I was hoping someone has already solved. I spent a few hours googling, but no luck. This will be running on the 33" stock Arcade Monitor in my Showcase Cabinet, but until then I was wondering how to run mame ui in full screen mode on my computer's 19" LCD 4/3. I have messed with all of the options in the preferences of the screen, and the display tabs, but no luck there either.

I'm hoping that this is a quick fix that I'm overlooking, so If anyone could offer some assistance I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

By default it should be running in full screen. - yu need t go into 'default game options' and make sure all the right flags are set for fullscreen. If you want to fill right to the edges you will need to turn on hardware/software stretching too, though this may not work if you are using certain D£D aspects with a weak/poor graphics card. Also, if you have set your desktop to a low resolution and set a max limit for the game resolutions, when you go back to the PC monitor it can display things smaller thinking those are the resolution limits of the screen.

Thanks for the help, I actually just settled with the binary version of mame for now and got that working full screen. I decided that I didn't want to waste that much more time on something that was going to be used with my arcade monitor in my showcase anyways, so when I have problems setting that up I will probably be back with more questions. I am excited though, I have my Arcade VGA with the signal booster ready to go in, I just need to finish the body work touch ups on the cab so I can unmask the monitor and get rockin.

it was prolly just full screen, resize, or stretch not being enabled
