software problem
« on: April 29, 2009, 12:18:33 am »
Im having to reload mame32 0.1.02 into my computer after a restore...I reloaded it from the original dvds I used to install it the first time...along with all of the roms. The games list comes up, but when you try to play a game, it cant find the files..It lists " all games" but is blank under "available games". What do I do to startup the program.... this computer is not hooked up to the internet and I was not the person who did this the first time, and I have nowhere near his skill...thanks for any help...l

This should be in the software forum but anyway.....

Start Mame32 and go to Options\directories. You need to point it to where the roms are living

Make sure you press F5 too to refresh the list in case it is not set to pickup new games on startup.

You go to 'browse' which will call up a browser window which you use to find the rom location on your hard drive. Repeat this for things like 'snapshots', 'flyers' etc.
