Hey gang,
I (not so) recently purchased a JPAC to hook my arcade cab up to my PC. After a handful of issues here and there, and a whole lot of research, trial and error, I managed to get everything hooked up and reading inputs correctly.
Now for some reason, all the joysticks/buttons work and it's semi-playable, but the mapping is all wonky. Stuff like the input I have mapped to 1P Joystick up ends up getting mapped to 2P right, 2P button 6 is mapped to 1P start (and ends up being the shift button no less), and all kinds of funkiness like that.
I spoke to Andy at Ultimarc and he's been walking me through this stuff and has been an ENORMOUS help, and he linked me to the test/program mode faq and I'll be trying that when I get home tonight.
However he mentioned that it may be a wiring issue as well, and I'm wondering if I'm missing something - the joystick and buttons 1,2,3 for both sides are connected to the JAMMA harness, which worked fine when connected to the CPS2 board that was inside. Buttons 4,5,6 and the grounds for them on both sides I've wired directly into the JPAC.
I was wondering if anyone knew off the top of their heads what could cause the mapping/programming to go all crazy like that?
