AC Wiring Quick Question

I have seen the Bob Roberts AC wiring diagrram. I have a question though. I have a PC monitor with a Jamma board and a DC powersupply. I am going to connect the power cable directly to the DC power suppy by connectiong the white/black/green wire. If I use a Surge protector that would be plugged into the wall and then plug the DC power supply and monitor into the surge protector, Would I stll need to use an AC filter and inline fuse? Or can I wire it the way I explained.
