WTB - 2x Large IDE Drives (640GB+)
« on: April 12, 2009, 05:01:51 am »
I'm looking to buy two large IDE (aka; EIDE, ATA/100, ATA/133)  **not SATA** drives.  They need to be 640GB or larger and I would really prefer both to be the same size, model, etc as I'll be running RAID.

I know Seagate had a 750GB version (the ST3750640A) would like to get two of those, but would consider other brands so long as the storage is over 640GB.  Of course I'd like to get these as cheap as possible and don't care if they're refirbs.

Reason I need them... all my SATA ports are full and busy and my only IDE port is being used by my two current 400GB drives and I really need to upgrade those.  I also don't feel a jump to 500GB would be worth it so would really prefer 750GB (or larger if possible) but would consider 640GB+ range drives as well.

Also if you're wondering... I'm unable to use PCI-E or PCI IDE expansion and don't want to go the USB HDD route either.

I don't live on these boards but I marked the "notify me of replies" thing so just reply here and we'll talk.

Thanks!
