New Layout -- Type-R
« on: April 06, 2009, 03:12:59 pm »
Here's a preview of the latest layout I've been working on.  Thinking of calling it "Mugen".  Maybe "Type-R", or just "R".  I'm not a Honda-ricer-fanboy, so don't give me any ish.

I'm especially proud of this one; I built it almost completely from scratch.  I'm will include a logo-less version and a pack of in-house tuner logos like TRD, Ralliart, Nismo, etc. to replace the MaLa at the top.

The only thing I'm iffy on is the silver bars across the top.  They don't really fit.  If you have any comments, speak up.  I plan on upping this in the next couple days.

<edit> Decided to change it to "Type-R" for now to avoid confusion with the MUGEN emulator.

Ohhh

Can you send me the MaLa Logo In that style, or a variety.

I like the Idea of changing the Logo with semi-major version changes,

I think the bars would fit better if they were tinted smokey blue like the background.

I'll try that.  I made them a darker "gunmetal" and they look a bit better.

Believe it or not, theres actually the hood of a '09 Nissan GT-R under all that carbon.  It's been pretty buried with all the layers and the regular progression of the image.  There's also a couple other bits some might notice:  i.e. the up and down arrows were taken from the new Citroen logo.

I forgot...

I also made 3:4, 16:9, and 16:10 ratios for you widescreen guys.  I'm currently working on sounds and the tuner logos.

I like it! ;D

So, I've been slowly working through the tuner logos, heres what I got so far.  I still havent tried Kayden's idea yet, but I'll put it up in a bit when I do it.  I think I'm going to find a bluish chrome mirror housing (from a VW?) or something and make a multiply layer.

Here's the rest of 'em.  If I left any out, let me know.

I'm still working on sounds, but next I have to sort out those bars at the top.

That worked nice!  I added blue hue and a slight grain.  It really blends in.  Thx for the idea.

No problem, I just wish I was as good an artist as I am a critic.

Your last one is looking good, though.  You'll get it.

I've been using PS sporadically for over 10 years now, and only feel confortable with it the last year, year-and-a-half, and I'm still no pro.  I still sketch on a pile of post-its though to get initial ideas together.

Thx loadman!

I also have a couple on the back burner:
* Girls of Fighting (or Girls of War?) - A multi-page theme for fighting junkies with a different page - with the appropriate girls - for Capcom, Namco, Midway, Sega, etc. and corresponding gamelists.  Could also be used as single-page for all games.
* LEGO - I've been so hooked on the Lego games lately (Batman, Star Wars, Indiana Jones) that I was inspired to start a theme.  Also multi-page, with each page being one game.  This would only be beneficial for people making a Lego-only cab, but I may be one of those people.

I have no presentable graphics yet, but I'll put 'em up when I get there.

And I still have Spring '09 to do, but I may just skip to Summer. :blah:
