Question about trackball mounting
« on: June 30, 2003, 05:54:09 pm »
Quick question about mounting the Happ 3" highball trackball in 3/4" wood.  What mounting plate do I buy?  because plates in this catagory  (http://www.happcontrols.com/trackballs/56553000.htm)  dont have the dimensions for the highball, and the plates in this catagory  (http://www.happcontrols.com/trackballs/55110100.htm)   have one that their sales people say fits the highball, but the other plates look like they are actually supposed to hold the trackball itself, and the kit they say to buy costs four times what the kits in the first catagory cost.

Do I hafta go get one machined?

Hi. I have a trackball and i mounted it with the plate 55-1101-00 from Happ. I just cut a hole for the TB to fit and used the plate to mount it on the CP. Seems you need part 55-1103-00 or 55-1104-00, difference is color. The plate holds the TB and mounts to the CP. The other part is for extra support for the TB, sense it will be in your house and not an arcade should be fine.

darn, that's what I was afraid someone was gonna say...  $24 for a piece of metal with a few holes in it!   Should've gotten the normal 3" trackball, I could have used its nice little $7.50 plate.
