Pics from recent SoAZ meet
« on: March 25, 2009, 09:22:19 pm »
Think there's enough pinball? I was standing up on the second level, right in front of some of the classics. There's two Pinball2000 machines in there, too, Star Wars, and Invaders from Mars...or is it Mars Attacks?

The CLASSIC games (well, mostly):

Pole Position, my friend (who liked the games, but loved the pins), and my raging high score:

Me an Haruman's scores on Smash TV. Really, we both put a bunch of credits in and were pumping :

My fairly dominating Robotron score. Wonder if it's still up.

Notice the crappy Comps or Supers on the panel. Super long throw, hard-to-hit diagonals...and I still SURVIVED.

And that weird STUN Runner that has Star Wars with a raster monitor:

Yo. Chocolate.

That Donkey Kong cabinet is just wrong.

Look at that DK high score. The cab must've offended the good players.

Yep, C & C.

You live in AZ?  We only posted about the event for like 3 months ahead of time:

Not many people visit the meet-up boards, though.

Neither.  Revenge From Mars!  Sequel to Attack from Mars.  Unrelated to the awful Tim Burton movie Mars Attacks.

Oh, come on. It's a fun movie with a great Elfman soundtrack.

I love Burton.  I love Elfman.  I saw the movie free, before opening weekend, as part of a test audience.  I tried to like it.

I couldn't.  I still felt gypped.  Even though it was free.

Bah humbug.

Ah, tough call on that one...I paid money for a Planet of the Apes ticket & felt gypped too...but perhaps a tad less gypped than free Mars Attacks...so I think MA still has a slightly higher gyp/$ ratio.  :]

Oh wait, $ = 0 for MA, so that's infinity.  Need to invert.  MA $/gyp ratio < PotA $/gyp ratio.

Yeah, that was it, because I posted in Main to make sure. No worries. I'm thinking of doing it again in a week or two, so stay tuned.

Since when did Phoenix become "SoAZ" ?
(I lived in Sierra Vista / Huachuca City for many years as a kid)

I remember an Aladdins Castle around the phoenix area from eons ago as a kid.
My grandparents lived in El Mirage.

Thanks for sharing with us.

No no. The meet was in Pheonix, but I'm in Tucson, so basically it was SoAZ. Of course, anyone else in the southern region was welcome, too. Just no one else on the board who is...or is at least open about it.

No Aladdin's far as I know. Just C&C and Golf Land, with the emphasis on the former because of their far better selection of pins and classics.

Okay, probly better to announce here: I'm thinking of doing this again, say on Saturday, April 11th. Anyone interested?
