What does MALA takes so long to quit? Is there any other way to have an instant quit?

Don't worry. I must say sorry because I was wrong: the problem was a sound file. Of course MALA plays the sound before it exits, so that was the reason for the delay. Now I've removed the exit sound and it's perfect, with the fade to black, which is really a cool effect.
