Maximus Arcade - Optimal resolution for 17" LCD?
« on: March 17, 2009, 02:25:36 pm »
Hi guys,

I'm currently building my first arcade (a bartop cab) and while I'm waiting for the cabinet parts I've been making the marquee and control panel overlay graphics. I was just about to start making a custom MA theme as well, but then I figured I have no idea what resolution I should run MA at. I've read that 640x480 is the "recommended" resolution for MA, but I figured it would look rather pixelated on a 17" LCD (1280x1024 native)? Regardless if I run MA at, let's say 1024x768, then MAME (and the other emulators) will still start games in whatever resolution I've configured for each emulator, right?

So, basically what I ask here is what resolutions you guys run MA at and what type of monitor (size, crt/lcd/arcade/tv) you're using.

I'd appreciate some advice on this matter. Thanks. :)
