Mala Info Window scaling

Hi

I was wondering if anyone knows whether this behavior is intentional in Mala or just something I've maybe done wrong.

I'm using a fixed scale Mala layout at 1920x1200.

I've created a custom background for the "info" Window. see below.

When I load up mala and view the info, Mala appears to "scale it down" then scale it back up, resulting in a pretty badly artifacted image.

Anyone know if there's something special you have to do to get images to display nicely as the Info Background?
