namco arcade stick mod suggestions needed
« on: March 11, 2009, 06:08:35 am »
Hi guys, since i cannot work on my (never ending) cab until my wife us away for at least a couple of days, I'm going to modify my namco arcade stick. I'm a a fan of the happ supers and comp buttons and I feel the NAS has a very "light" activation force and the buttons are very unresponsive.
I've already stretched the joystick spring to get a more stiffer feel and i really like it.
Now i was wondering if instead of buying sanwa or semirsu buttons is it possibile to repalce (by building some kind of mechanical adapter) to replace the "microswitches" of the buttons with the subminiature ones tha are normally found in mices. I'm going to get rid of the PCB so i'm, not interested in having the spoldering point in the same place, i just want to have more responsive buttons.

Buyng sanwa parts is not an option because at that point i would rather scratchbuilt a new panel rather than modifying the existing one (and get my wife very very angry by starting another project).
