As of 2 months ago, my lady say NO to a full size cab in the living room, thus http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=77938.0

is no more... currently it is in my shed in its component pieces awaiting being turned into something a little more practical.. She says she wants an ironing board, but I say a cocktail cabinet..

Practicalities though, its a bit of a jip to get the cabinet up 4 flights of stairs to a top floor flat.. Ive had to move house recently so my haven of 8bit has gone to the wall...

Did you try Mappy in attract mode on her? It can help.
I have to admit the paint job on the Mame cab is not looking too good. It can be the picture, but it's not a real beauty.
And what about those ZX Spectrums and Amiga on the wall? Are they considered to be a useful part of the interior? Maybe you can trade them for the Mame cab.
And if she wants the cab gone, I would demand the cable subscription to be gone too (hope you're men enough to not miss something about that?). That black monster may be evil, but the average woman-tv-show is way more evil than that.

Do you have a kid-girl? Turn it into a Bella-Arcade or something like that.

And ALWAYS buy her an ironing board if she wants that. And buy yourself some Armani shirts so she can use it!

If I told my wife Im keeping the Mame machine and No blingly, blingly She said no more ****** ***** **** ***** ****. Those *'s don't really represent any words, but I'm guess you could imagine.

I think if shes cool with a cocktail and you can live with it, it would be a great compromise. Having a limited space just sucks and well sometimes you have to give a little bling bling to get a little sing sing.

i love it when people on this forum say stuff like this. whenever a husband does something that his wife requests, its regarded as "whipped". but im wondering if the guys making these comments are married...and if they are....if they have a happy marriage

I have to admit im nearly married (nearly as in been together 14 years with 3 kids and i do say yeh yeh i'll marry you one day) and my lass lets me get away with murder, Not only do i make my cab in the kitchen but ive all so been spray paining in there lol . Mind you saying that is a dump any way lol .....

I encourage my wife to have a life of her own and pursue hobbies. When it comes to stuff like this, you either have to make a stand or prepare to live a life of misery. I've always had motorcycles, trucks, guns and whatever else I'm into.
For now, that includes games. I'm up to 7 of them and have a very happy marriage.

There's no way I would have asked her to marry me if it was gonna be any other way.

Happily married, 9yrs, 5 kids and more in love now than ever. I tried living my life constantly trying to please my first wife and it ended up a flippin disaster. Now I got me a woman who knows who the man of the house is and respects me for it. And I know how not to abuse it. She would never lay the law down like that. And I would never spray paint in the kitchen....

I have been married for almost 12 years and when ever my wife complains about my hobbies, I just give the, You know dear, I could be going to a topless bar every night and spending our rent money on beer and tipping dancers. And that usually shuts her up.

I honestly think this would be the perfect time to build a transformer cabinet. One that can transform into a cocktail table/full size cab/barcalounger. Seems like that could work.
