Marco sucks
« on: March 06, 2009, 10:14:02 pm »
My TFTC is in a million pieces right now.

I am giving it the works, big time.

Decided to go with white/red rubber to liven it up.

Marco sent me plastic crap, the slick red rubber for flippers & then the wrong damn sized rings.

I know sometimes the manuals are wrong. So what are the rubber rings called that go on the tiny metal posts? Because that's what I received & I dont have even ONE of those tiny metal posts.

Thanks

Yeah never mind I asked google what 3/16" I.D. rings are & then after confirming Marco was at fault & not the manual I sent them a message.

So eh, guess I wont finish this one for a while.

So you got "mini-post" rubbers or "sleeve" rubbers instead?

Honest mistakes do happen. I've ordered from Marco before without problems.

Manuals (especially Williams) have been known to be wrong or riddled with errors. I was just working on a High Speed earlier in the week on a flipper problem and found the wiring schematic to the flipper circuit was WRONG (had wiring errors on the schematic).

Ken - Would you mind posting what was wrong in the schematic? I would like to update it before I need it as a reference.  :)

I have only ordered from Marco once, but it was a good transaction.

I've ordered from Marco a number of times and even met the owner and his wife at a local Pin gathering (along with the owner of PinScore).   Nice group of folks.  I highly recommend them... and they DO backup their product 100%.

I've dealt with all the pin dealers (pbresource, Marco, Bayarea, pinballlife), and all are competent, knowledgeable, and helpful.

The end-of-stroke switch is shown connected incorrectly to the coil. The schematic shows one side of the EOS switch connected to the cathode side of the coil. That is wrong. It should be connected to the anode side of the coil instead. The connection to the center coil terminal is correct.

The manual shows the wrong connections on all three flipper coils.

Don't know if Williams sent out a "manual amendment" sheet for this machine or not.

Scratch my above comment - I have never dealt with Marco. It was GPE I dealt with.

Yeah I am sure they will fix it.

The real reason I made the post was to find out if the error was on their part or the manual because (those are wrong sometimes, ok a lot) I am not proficient in looking at a rubber ring & spouting off its size.

Not going to be the end of the world, just complaining a bit.

They did send me wrong assemblies before which I never got around to returning, due to a time constraint I ordered the correct ones since they wouldn't ship until getting the wrong ones back................time went by & I still have them :-(

I've ordered from Marco a bunch of times with no problems. But the last 2 times I've called them asking for help finding the correct parts the person I spoke to was very rude and unhelpful.

They still suck, I wont even go into detail about it because its all over exactly $2.00 in parts they F'd up & already enough of a time waster.
