So, what's the deal with Mars Matrix and GigaWing?
« on: March 05, 2009, 08:43:09 pm »
Why do the scores go so high?? I mean, I'm no slouch when it comes to vertical shooters, but DAMN! High scores in the billions!

Was this intentional or is it some MAME glitch?
So a leper walks into a bar and as he gets his beer, a finger falls off. The bartender who is serving him turns and pukes all over the place. The leper, feeling bad, says, "Was it my finger falling off?" The bartender turns to him and says, "No, it's the guy dipping chips into your back."

Nope thats how it is.  I did not know Mars Matix worked on Mame I thought I tried it and it was messed up bad.

GigaWing works, but I have Mars Matix & GigaWing2 on Dreamcast.  The 2nd one is really good and I have had my score so big that I do not know the actual term for the number anymore lol.

Thanks  ;D

It's crazy .. when I brag to my wife about my newest high score, she asks "Oh, cool .. what's your new score?" ..

I have to tell her "oh, about 7" across the screen"  :laugh2:

Works fine. 100%

mame version .110 (Custom compiled version, but I believe it ran just fine on the regular .110 version as well)

im on .129 wonder if they broke it in a newer release.

Edit nvm it works... I must have had it confused with a similar game.  I like the GigaWing games much better though, and the reflect barrier is easier for me to use.

shikigami 2 & 3 are on my to get list.  I just found out about them the other day.

Ikaruga I just have not gotten into yet, I guess because I suck at it :P

I really like GigaWing2 its just so short, I got owned within seconds first few times playing, so much on screen its hard to tell what is a bullet and what is background.  After about 15 min though I was able to get to the last 2 stages with very few or no deaths, but the last boss.. OMG I have to use like 15 lives.  I do not use bombs though, that feels like cheating to me.
