Author Topic: Where to get Arcade themed Cursors (mouse Pointer)??? (Read 18281 times)

I want to replace my cursor with a Spacie or a fireball or pacman or something arcade themed. Anyone know where to find some?
There are some in Maximus Arcade but they only works inside the FE

I tried using the black dot, but against a black background I can't find the damn thing when I need to update my system.
So if you cant beat em, join em

here are a few that i made at different times for on my cabinet...

some are animated, some are not. the one called tiny arrow is just that...a tiny black and gray arrow if you want something pretty small.

I used a simple program (can't remember the name) to create a simple Pac-cursor that 'chomped' while it was working in the background. From what I remember it was just like a gif animation program where you have a 32x32 grid and can create several animations for one file. It was pretty cool.

I just put blue animated ghost on my cabinet--love it!

Are you taking requests? If so, can you make another version of the blue animated ghost but with a much lighter arrow? Perhaps white & gray, or white & black? It's hard to see the dark black/gray cursor on some backgrounds.

An Asteroids & Asteroids Deluxe ship would also make a keen mouse arrow!

i'll try to make some more when i get some time...this weekend i'll be pretty busy...my mom has a bee problem at her house (possible wasp nest inside her bathroom wall...) and she is allergic to bees..so i get to go get rid of them for her >(FUN!!!)

i am using a demo program right now..i think it is only good for 30 days..so i'll try to knock these out over the next week

Great stuff!! Are any of these available for a vertical oriented monitor, where the right side of the monitor is the bottom of the screen? I'd love to have the spinning cherries!

Or, if anyone can recommend a good (free) animated cursor editor...

well, as it turns out..the bee problem was not nearly as bad as she made it out to bee...(lol).

i am using axialis cursorworkshop, which works pretty well...however it is $50 and i don't think it is worth that just to make a few mouse cursors. so i am going to look around to see what other programs are out there.

as for the cherries cursor..i can edit it...what needs done? rotated counterclockwise 90 degrees?

glad i can help out...i found another app that i already had that is capable of doing .ani files...so there are no time limits anymore...i'm working on some space invaders cursors now...if anyone has anythign specific they want..just let me know.

here is a space invader cursor i just made...plus now that i am using this other application, i can do gif previews of them as well....i'll try to go back and make previews for the old ones as i get time...just make sure you click on the link to download the .ani file instead of saving the gif.

Another nice Icon/cursor editor I use is AWIcons pro. They also have a demo good for 30 days or so.

That package cost 40$, not free, but a little cheaper at any rate

There are lots of freeware icon editors out there, but I've played with most of them. They might be good for an odd icon or two, but I wouldn't want to use them constantly

i'm using an old version of Jasc animation shop, which will allow me to save animated Gifs and .ani cursors. i can create the frames in any image editing program and inport them into animation shop...so this works pretty well. and since i already have it, there is no additional cost.

Couple of suggestions;

- SF2 'victory fingers' symbol
- Mario characters
- Reworked spinning token design to be silver UK 10p coin with Spade Invader on reverse or BYOAC logo
- Outrun car skidding
- Bub and Bob
- Pang dude with hookshot as pointer
- Wonderboy jumping

I think these would be great for anyone, but I do have a personal request - any chance you could make this working of my logo into a static cursor for me, with a small white arrow in the upper left corner? Would it be possible to make it animate and change the letter to T-U-R-N-A-R-C-A-D-E-S or is there a limit to the number of frames? If it is, I could amend this image in photoshop to send you the individual frames needed to work off.

i started working on a mario..just havent finished it yet....i'll look into some of those others...one of the big problems with cursors is that you are limited to 32x32 pixels...which just doesnt give you alot to work with.

one of those tokens is actually made from a pic of the real BYOAC tokens..but due to the small size, it is hard to make that out.

i have no idea who Pang Dude is...help me out here. and is it safe to assume that bub and bob are from bubble bobble?

i made a quick static cursor from your logo, but like i said, due to the 32pixel limit..there is only so much detail that it will allow. i'll work on the animated version when i get some more time...do you know the name of the font you used to make that?

Now *that's* great! This immediately replaced my blue animated Pac-Man cursor you posted recently. I much prefer the way you did the arrow on the invader--white w/ black outline makes sure you can see it against a dark background, a light background, or anything else in between. The gray/black & gray/white arrows get lost in some backgrounds.

yeah..once i did the invader cursor, i realized how crappy the arrow was on those first ones. as i get time i plan on going back and altering them to make them better.

i updated the blue ghost with a better arrow. i had to make it larger though, since the first one was only 16x16, so now it is 32x32.

Thanks severd, that looks quite cool. The font is called 'crackman' and is available from a few sources online if you want it, but to save you some time for my cursor I've done a load of gifs for the required letters for you to work off. Jason was right about the contrast, so could you please re-do the static one for me with the same 'white-arrow-with-black-outline' arrow and do the same on the animated one when you find time. Kudos for doing this and all the other great cursors!

I just downloaded RealWorld Cursor Editor, a free cursor creator/editor. I actually created a mario (jumpman) cursor - static and animated - if anyone wants to host it for me.

Cool stuff! Figured I'd add for the record, Atari Anniversary Edition as an option.

I've been using some neat cursors on Windows XP which became available when I installed Infograms Atari Arcade Hits 1 & 2
The Arcade configuration provides Themes for Asterorids, Centipedes, Missle command, Pong, Super Breakout, and Tempest.
Themes include Icons,Fonts,Cursors, Sounds, Wallpapers and Screensavers.
I like the Asteroids cursor
It looks like the game can be purchased on half.com for 75 cents

These are awesome, however, does anyone know how to slow the animation down? is that something I can do in the Control panel of XP, or is that controlled within the image. I'm currently loving GhostEatme-arrow, but they all seem to go really fast. the "preview" is a lot slower.
