Why does joymonkey's files seem to cap off at 27.4mb ??

It's really odd but if a file exceeds 27.4 mb it doesnt seem to fully download... any one else with this issue  ?

No, they download all the way for me.

  I really don't understand why this is happening, Say for instance the file is 40mb.. if i start to download it everything is fine until it hits 27.4mb and then it starts to transfer the incomplete file !?

Are you using firefox? If you aren't I'd say you should dl it and see if the download manager helps.

Sometimes if you are using a wireless router, some webistes wont download all of their content.  Localarcade.com is like this for me, I cant download anything.

Yeah, me too. I tried to pull down the Out Run sideart and I get the same issue 27.4mb and it stops.

Anyone know the fix ? I tried both wireless and wired to the modem and same thing (different OS and different PC and browsers too)

Use Firefox with the DownThemAll plugin. It uses a checksum to make sure that you have the whole download, and allows you to resume mid-download if it's interrupted for any reason. I've never had a failure going this way, even using uber crappy Iraqi internet......

Joymonkey contacted me directly and uploaded the files I needed to a temp server.. he is aware of the issue and said that he was going to move everything to a new server

I get the same thing.  Silly localarcade...half the time i browse that site i just get a blank page.

Is this somewhere that it can be downloaded now?  I just got a ms. pacman machine and would like to explore giving it a new paint job.

I think localarcade is having server problems ?? for a while now.. As for the Ms. Pac stuff I think that those files are hidden because "twobits.com" owns the rights to repro them ?? not sure you can always go to this back-up site hosted by zorg:

How do you come to the conclusion it's the wireless router? If it was every website, then yeah, I can see that happening. But not when it's only one or two sites out of the hundreds of sites frequented.

BTW, Local Arcade does the same thing with me.

It has nothing to do with your wireless router, it has to do with their servers / hosts.

Same problem for me, definitely a server problem on both sites.

I have some pieces I'd like to upload to localarcade, but when 9/10 times all I get is a blank page, I can't be bothered trying.
