What happened to the mamewah site?
« on: March 02, 2009, 03:16:11 pm »
I am in the middle of building a cabinet for a friend and was getting ready to download and install mamewah when I noticed its not there anymore,   fortunately I still have copies of it but it was nice to get updated and fresh downloads from the site?

Anyone know what happened?   Do we need to Donate to keep the site alive?  Or is there an alternate site I am not aware of?

I love mamewah,  thanks a ton to Minwah for creating it,  just curious where it went.

If it was part of the mameworld hosted sites then they are experiencing technical troubles right now. Otherwise I'm not sure. If there is a financial issue I'd be happy to host Mamewah at no cost (though if you appreciate his product people *should* donate if Minwah will take it) but I suspect that's not the issue...

Looks like the new location is going to be http://mamewah.mameworld.info/ but it's not there yet.

Obviously I talk with Steve regularly and when I first asked he said he was not aware it had gone down. It did go back up temporarily but unfortunately it has dropped off again. I contribute regularly and I do know that Mamewah is undergoing several upgrades at the moment (currently at v1.66 I think) with some eye candy and additional navigation control options.

I will mail Steve again in case he is not dropping in here frequently and mention Saint's offer, though for now I've uploaded the system files to Megaupload which can be obtained here:

mamewah.mameworld.info has been working for quite a while, and was there a couple of days ago. I am not sure what is wrong now but it looks like Mameworld in general is having problems again. I expect in a day or two it will be back to normal (fingers crossed!)

Incidentally I'm hoping to have a new version ready soon...testing it now :)

I have been trying to get on mameworld for a few days now (Hosts the mamewah site) and it has been down. Anyone know how to contact the owner of the site asd let them know? I am really wanting to get on so I can grab the newest version of Emuloader wich is also hosted on mameworlds server.

Here is what I get when I try to goto any site hosted with mameworld...
Code: [Select]
Bandwidth Limit Exceeded
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later.

Having my own server and web sites, I would say someone needs to upgrade there hosting package. :D

http://mamewah.mameworld.info/ is working at 15.30 on 27/4/09. I've took the liberty of amending the link in the wiki, which incorrectly reported it as http://mamewah.mameworld.net.

Any chance of listing a quick brief of the new features here, Min?
