This might be more of an UltraStik issue rather than a MaLA issue, but I thought I'd try here. I tried to ask this question on the Ultimarc message board, but never received a response.
I recently replaced all of the PC components in my cabinet (new motherboard, CPU, RAM, hard drives, etc.) and installed Windows XP Professional (64-bit). I've always used MaLa as my front-end and I also have the UltraStik plug-in installed. For emulation, I'm running the 64-bit version of MAME 0.129. I've replaced my shell with MaLa so that the cab boots directly into it.
The problem I'm running into is that when the cab first boots up, I receive an UltraStik pop up box indicating "Programming all plugged in UltraStiks," but with this additional info:
"The following errors were encountered. UltraStik #1 should be plugged in but cannot be found."
I've gone into the Game Controllers section of Control Panel and verified that the 360 is recognized. The stick itself and all of the buttons test fine. Although I doubted it would make a difference, I tried different USB ports, but to no avail.
Is the problem possibly with my installation of the UltraStik software? Could it be the MaLa plugin?
Before I upgraded, I was running everything in 32-bit. Could this be a problem with 64-bit Windows, or 64-bit MAME?
Anyway, if anyone has an idea, please let me know.
Thanks!
Joe
