CP overlay question

I'm starting my new CP and as I like working with Photoshop I plan on designing my own CP art. I would like to get this printed on heavy vinyl like (i think) the old CP's were done.

Any advise on how to do this?

Check with a local sign shop or possibly Kinko's.

We have a local one called Fast Signs.  The do all kinds of signs, including pronting on Vinyl.

It's not cheap though.

Anyway you just need to let your fingers do the walking till you find a commercial printer that will do it for you and not charge the earth.

Curious way to ask for help...    


I just called around some local print shops to get one done.  Most original cp overlay's were screen printed on a vinyl or lexan type film, but you likely won't want to pay to have that done because of the setup charges.  Inkjet prints are much more economical for one-off's, but many people feel that inkjet prints are lower quality than screen prints.

Check some local print shops for inkjet printing on adhesive backed vinyl.  Around me, this typically runs around $12-$15 per square foot.

Does anyone know if kinkos can/will print large transparancies?  I'm looking to create a retro cp overlay with a black backgroud...but I figured I'd just paint the cp black and get the rest printed.
