Does anyone know if the upcoming SF4 will support keyboard mappings so our beloved arcade cab buttons will work?  thanks

I didn't mean keyboard mapping, but keyboard in general.

Excellent. I heard it will support DVD drives and computer monitors too.  ;)

Yes, that is funny,
but there have been a few PC games that only supported joystick for second player...kooky stuff

Stupid EA Sports games... ugh.

If Capcom does this for the PC version I would be both surprised and extremely disappointed...

...no doubt they've come across what we do here when browsing around.

Oooh, a Street Fighter IV cabinet on the cheap... I'm gonna have to think seriously about building something along those lines. :]

Mine too :P (if you call it a cab) the big question is when will this be out.

I tell you another really awesome looking game that I want to import that I think I would like even more and its very similar to SF4.

Tasunoko vs Capcom, go check out some youtube videos of it.

The only info on that game you posted said it will be for wii. Not a complete barrier for cab use, but definitely a hindrance.

That does look very good but I was really disappointed when I heard about the control scheme, and when I read people's experiences playing it. I can't remember exactly what the buttons were but it's not the traditional street fighter config.

Also, yeah, Wii only. And only in Japan so I don't think it will even run on western Wii's, last I checked no plans for a US/Europe release.

Why worry? Just use Xpadder...

It will just requires some modding or patching.  I plan to post videos running it on my wii.  Id assume the control scheme is like MvC2 but I cant say for sure.

What cabinets are you guys planning to run SF IV in?

As it's a widescreen game, will it play in letterbox mode on a 4:3 display?

I have a Dynamo that i'm planning on running it in. The monitoris  a 22" and 4x3 so it will probably run in letterbox until i can find a bigger screen. i cant wait til release day. i have already started trying to convince my wife that we need this game. So far i'm winning because i ask while she is asleep.

I'm running in widescreen. Thankfully showcase cabinets have enough room for a decent widescreen display.

That was my thought.

But isn't xpadder for using a gamepad to simulate keypress and mouse movements?  I'm hoping for the reverse where you can use keypresses to simulate gamepad buttons.

There's only 3 attack buttons. It's been too long since I played my Dreamcast but I don't remember MvC2 like that, maybe you're right though. Here's somebody's first impressions that I quickly found on google, it reads the same as most of the others I'd seen before: http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/10/hands-on-tatsun.html
