Building a mame machine

I am interested in building a Mame machine, i was wondering how fast the processor has to be, how much ram you need, what windows system is the best for it, if you could give me a answer or give me a good resource for this information that would be great, Thanks

i have a p4 3ghz, 2gb ram, radeon 9600xt, 80gb hd, running win xp pro, and it works very well as a mame pc

look into nLite XP for an OS.
