« on: February 13, 2009, 05:05:06 am »
is it possible to program a push button to be the enter key using the ipac or mame32?  when searching through the list of games i have to press enter on the keyboard or double click the mouse to select the game.

Yes by default Enter should be the shifted input for player 1 right or left.

and by default the shift key is the P1 Start button.  So hold Start and press left or right on your joystick (I think its right but forget so it could be left)

Other than that if you have a free button you want to do that just download there WinIPAC software, go into the button assignments section click on the button that represents the switch you want for Enter, when it asks for the button press to assign to that key just press Enter, program the IPAC with the program button and your done.

Though for an admin task like that a Shifted key input like default makes more sense to me.

Arg dont know why, first time in a while playing something other than mame and had to program again and its not working.

I just downloaded the files that fixed it last time incase they were somehow replaced and its still not working.

Going to try a PC reboot here and hope that fixes it, if not I am on the hunt yet again on the problem.

Oops: posted to wrong thread, but for the record a reboot seemed to have fixed it.

All is well.
