Stools from Happ?
« on: June 25, 2003, 04:12:32 pm »
Anyone buy the game stools from Happ?  If so, do you know how much they charged you for shipping?  My local furniture store wants $99 for stools like that...

You might want to check at Target or WalMart, you can probably find a stool for cheaper.

Target or Wal-Mart has wooden stools, but I wanted the heavy-duty game-room stools. Hapss are a good price, but I worry about their shipping costs, since you don't get to see them until its too late...

Maybe my local billiard store would be a good place to look...

Billy Bob's furniture has really nice selection of bar stools.
They have some that look like the Happs, chrome base and big black cushions on top. Some of them have backs (much more comfortable)
Mucal invader, is there no end to your oozing?!

I bought 2 decent ones at Acemart for $35 each.  If you are lucky enough to be in a city with one of their stores it is a plus  ;)

For your original question, I ordered another stool from Happ back in April and shipping via standard UPS Ground was $15.28.

The stools from Happ ($60) are among my best investments for my cab.  I've looked for quite a while trying to find a stool equal in quality to the Happ one that is cheaper, but no luck yet.  I've tried those $35~$40 ones that look similar that I could find locally, but they don't hold up very well over time.  Of the ones I've had in the past, the bearing doesn't hold up and before long the seat will get a "tilt" or "wobble" to it.  Also the padding squishes down and they don't retain their shape so they start to look bad.  The seat on the Happ stools is about 5" thick and it uses a very heavy duty roller bearing swivel.

I don't promote going with a more expensive option when you can save some coin on a similar product, but I won't waste my $$ on cheap stools again.  Only the Happ ones for me from now on.  :)
