Jukesoft Error - Software Guru Needed
« on: February 10, 2009, 12:56:08 am »
I have a copy of Jukesoft, which is being used in a number of commercial jukeboxes. The following link provides an example of what it looks like and how it operates: http://www.ready2rock.com.au/demo/music_popup.html

When I double click on the exe file, it comes up with an error that cryptocx.ocx or one of its dependancies cannot be located.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this or get around the error?

The software developer went bust several years ago and hence no support is available.

The following is a link to the Jukesoft exe file: http://rapidshare.com/files/196232150/jukebox.exe.html

Thanks in advance.

Looks like certain dependent files (ie: OCX) files are not installed on your computer so the jukebox application can not start up properly.   You can try to obtain a copy of the missing OCX file, place it in your "C:\Windows\system32" directory and register it manually by doing the following steps:

- Open a command window
- change the current directory to be "C:\Windows\system32"
- perform the "regsvr32 cryptocx.ocx" command
- restart the jukebox app and see if it now works

However, if you are missing one OCX (or DLL) file then chances are you are missing a bunch of others as well.  You might get lucky and have it work but I would bet there was some type of installation of support software which was required prior to running the jukebox application which would have installed all the required OCX, DLL, fonts, etc... which the jukebox application uses.

Good luck

Everything i can find about it says it's used to send secure files over the internet, like a PGP replacement. It should be included as part of the jukebox set up program.

Gives more details

Seems you'll need the security part of the program before you can instal it
