Pentium 1.8, 1 gig ram, Mame .129. What's realistic?

Did my first cab for my nephews. I'm not sure what I can expect to run well. Given the specs (also Mala with command-line Mame, optimized Windows XP running a shell), does this performance sound right. I can run these games fine, for example: NBA Jam, Tekken 2 (a bit slow), MK 3, Killer Instinct. Here's what runs like crap: Tekken 3 and Gauntlet Legends. Does this sound acceptable?

ok..but who actually has a 4ghz overclocked cd2 in their mame cabinet?  so i guess he should have said:

Sounds about right. Running 0.105 at that spec gave a bit of lag on most games you have running well, so the better core of later builds should see those running well at the lower specs. The advanced textures on polygonal games from ike Tekken 3 onwards will take some optimising yet. More basic shading on earlier fighters like Tekken 1 and 2 took a while to get right so I expect you'll see a performance increase in about 12 months for those trouble games, if the work on laserdisc games doesn't take up the dev's time.
