Tried it. It sucks big time. It went through my entire collection to "fix" the tags and everything. I ended up having to go back through each individual songs and rename/label/categorize every song on my hard drive. It mislabeled, put wrong artist and genre, crammed everything together and made it unusable. I could not kill the program fast enough. STAY AWAY!!!!! It only works if you only run their programs and no other mp3 software.
Oh man, I was afraid of that. Deep down I know it probably sucks, but I want it succeed very much. I don't relish having to re-name my mp3's if that thing screws it up.
I did some more research from their forums and found some bad stuff:
Basically, it's a service that scans the WAV form and some other unique traits of each MP3 in your collection, and compares them to the signatures in their database. If it is found (AKA 'activated'), then it re-tags it with a bunch of useful info like overall genre, major instruments, vocal type, male/female/group singer, tempo speed, overall mood and some very specific categories (classic soul R&B vs contemporary synthezer R&B, etc)
Unfortunately it relies on regular folks to submit songs using a little 5 step wizard, which earns you additional activation credits (if you don't feel like paying for them). SO the result is some shmuck who submits willie nelson tunes as avril lavigne rave tunes. AND it then could retag your info with the wrong stuff. Hence the same problem as aj6500. Oh well, maybe in a few years, but for now apparently the database isn't checked very often nor updated frequently. Most people only got about 30% of their collections recognized.
YMMV
