Papercade or Arcade Video Game DIY Kits?
« on: January 26, 2009, 01:50:26 pm »
Hey Guys, has anyone posted about these new DIY Miniature Cabs for your desk?

http://www.jcstudiosinc.com/ArcadeGames/ArcadeGamesMain.jsp

Pretty cool! Slightly more sturdy than Papercade:

I may buy a couple, I just hope they come out with some more models! I would want a Robotron and a Ms. Pacman at least.

Cheers,
Deefish

None of those cabinets look accurate to me (except maybe the Centipede) - at least the papercade ones mimic the actual cabs...

Yeah, the fact that the cabinet shapes are all wrong would bug me.

you're telling me apart from the shapes you'd be happy with a vertical monitor in defender.

They are pretty cool and the pins are cool too and they are cheap. However considering he lasercuts them using proper cab shapes would not have been too hard to do.

If he was producing detailed stuff like this (as featured in this month's GameRoom Magazine):

http://www.nejtillfutura.se/flipper/junkyard/pmodel.html

then I would definitely be interested.

I tried to make a mini gun.smoke papercraft... good thing my actual machine came out better. But if you want to talk about a cool papercraft that I thought came out neat, check out my 9 foot Super Mario complete level 1-1 above my window !

Damn, that is a little rough ta look at.

I like the green t-molding on Galaga. Makes it look sharp.
