can't get genre to display
« on: January 24, 2009, 11:33:42 am »
Any idea why I can't get genre to display for mame games?  In the layout editor I have it defined as:

"Text4: ~g_genre"

and nothing is displayed when using the Mala.

I've got other text stuff defined, such as manufactuerer and year, and they display just fine, just not genre.

Check the screenshot below and make sure you have catver.ini defined and the file actually exists.  If you don't have catver.ini, you can download it at http://www.mameworld.net/catlist/

Only other thing I can think of is if you are using a black text on a blackground with that text field (or something similar).

Thanks!  That did it.  Been trying to figure this out for awhile now.  I knew it had to be something obvious like this.
