Zinc... Still a need?
« on: January 21, 2009, 09:04:11 am »
Having a new PC, is there really a need to use Zinc anymore? I really want hi score support for Mr. Driller but using Zinc, I don’t think that is possible. =[

Yeah, some of the unplayable games in MAME work pretty good in Zinc.  Although Zinc is a pain in the ass to setup, I do enjoy playing the Tekken games along with a couple others that MAME just can't do right now.

The key games like Tekken, SF EX, Soul Edge etc. are much better emulated on a Playstation emulator and have many more features too, so I've never bothered with the headache of Zinc. pSX is the simplest to set up and runs well even at low spec, even if the game compatibility is not as high as epsxe.

pSX is AWESOME. I tried it a few months ago thanks to your suggestion and I've loved it. Really easy to setup compared to ePSXe and it runs nice.

I'll have to give it a try. I have been using ePSXe which works well for me.

If ePSXe works well for you, stick with it. pSX is for people like me who can't ever get ePSXe setup worth a damn. I know there's got to be a sweet spot when it comes to the settings, but I can never find any I'm completely happy with.

Agreed. epsxe does have more features so if you got it set up and running well, stick with it.
