I'm using MultiFE in my button-only jukebox, and its working just fine.  Also interfaces with a 4 digit LED display connected serially.  As for buttons, isn't Ultimarc.com in the UK?

there is the wiki to checkout software that use joystick:
http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Jukebox_Software

(please note MultiJuke is renamed to MultiFE which is a frontend and hence MultiFE is not listed here, but in the frontend section).
Decade Old Work: MultiFE, ArcadeMusicBox
Today Works: Various Spectrum Next games from Rusty Pixels and html5 games.
