Which control interface??? (mame)
« on: January 19, 2009, 11:36:48 am »
I've looked around for post on this and am not having any luck.  Sorry if this is in the wrong place!!

OK...I'm kind of new at this and (not surprisingly, I have a few questions)

I am looking to build a control panel and am in the process of acquiring the parts.  My goal is to have two 8 way sticks, a dedicated 4 way stick, spinner, trackball and an assortment of buttons.  I'm hoping for 2 players total on the panel only.

I am not sure which control interface I should be looking at.  I would like the panel to be as intuitive as possible and as part of that, I do not like the concept of shift keys.  I really would like dedicated administrative buttons on the panel.  I've looked at some products that allow for 4 players and see that they have more inputs (i.e. Ipac4).  Could I remap some player 3 or 4 buttons to be admin functions??

Should I be looking at something else??  Am I way off base?   ???

Suggestions?  Comments?

Thanks for the help!!!!!

Go for the Minipac/opti with harness, and a U360 as 4-way stick? Perfect for your combination. Or go for a U-HID if you want the 4-way instead of the U360.
