Placement of Speakers
« on: January 16, 2009, 05:42:51 am »
I'm going to use in my cabinet, some old logitec x530 (5.1)  which i have managed to get working as stereo sound (center speakers is mono) and was wondering where i should place them. i think i will put three speakers up the top where you usually put the speakers, but i cant decide where i should put the other 2. What do you guys think i should do? I was thinking either to inbed them into the control panel, or maybe put them behind the glass with the monitor, or maybe not use the all together.

Thanks Dillsta

just a thought maybe u could mount into the sides to give a surround sound effect obviously left on left and right on right. or even pointing out the back for a deeper sound.

Well they will only play anything if you are either playing a 5.1 movie or music source, or have something doing some prologic processing on the audio.

I am not aware of any games that would give them any use.

But you could point them up to the cieling, and rely on them bouncing down behind you to give some form of rear sound, or you could actually cable them out of the cabinet and mount them behind the player position when standing at the cab, but thats a lot of effort for minimal return so I would just go for the ontop pointing up and towards the cieling above the player.

Well actually i have a converter for the cables the makes it for red and white cables for use with ps3 etc.. but converts it to 2 channel sound, so I'm using it with another cable that makes into a normal stereo (headphone) jack.. ive tested it and sound comes at all speakers ;D
