WTHB: Portable MAME System - I have NO wood skills
« on: January 14, 2009, 07:26:53 pm »
Wondering if someone with some reasonable wood skills would help me by building a Portable MAME CP that we would design as needed.  I am thinking TV output and have a PC and programming all set for this purpose... the actual CP, that's where someone else comes in.  :dunno

Please feel free to post here or PM me with questions, ideas, costs, etc.  Maybe we can inspire others to do the same.

My thanks, Games001

I had a 2 player control panel box mounted to fold up legs.  Technically, It worked great except during frenzied action, it got very unstable.

Someone had a 2 player pedestal Mame at one time. Dunno how well it worked out. I imagine if you can add a step to the bottom, you could use players weight as a stabilizer.

The bottom panel edge for stepping onto was one idea I was throwing around.  Seems one of the few ways to stablize the unit in heavy action times.

I built something like your after:  Here are some pics..   It can be plugged into any TV(with S-video or component).  I also added external USB(x2) so that I can plug two usb console style controllers into it and play NES , SNES, and U64 games.
